When I tell people about Boom, one of the things that surprises people most is just how small the team is. The XB-1 team was about 50 people and today the whole company is less than 150.

Why Co-CEOs for our $150M+ ARR startup? because the broccoli 🥦 haired 20 year olds in SF are coming for our lunch. We’re 8 years into building, geriatric in AI terms. IMO the only way to compete with these fools is to embrace the broccoli energy ourselves. that’s the thinking with Co-CEOs: 1. I build the version of our company that we would build if we were starting from scratch today. No tech debt, no org debt, no priors. 100% AI native company building 2. @ringmybeller owns the $150M business, the 20k customers, and the growth that’s paying for the experiment. This year we’ll grow 50% YoY profitably, it’s clearly working and he’s crushing. The beauty of it is we haven’t yet unveiled the new version of the company. That’s coming in September. "Postscript 2.0" takes 8 years of lessons and experience and combines it with the tactics and tools that benefit the 20 yr olds today. It’s been one of the most painful things for us to do. There’s endless change management, dissent from non-believers, lot’s to work we’ve created for ourselves. To me, that’s much better than the alternative. Disrupt yourselves before someone else does.

we built a tool that lets you edit UI directly in the app instead of going through Figma + engineering 1. select the part of the app you want to change 2. describe what you want 3. Cursor edits the code 4. review the PR designers can make small UI changes without waiting on an engineer, and engineers don’t have to spend time translating tiny design tweaks into code.

Congrats to @ArintraHealth (W22) on their $25M Series B! They build AI that translates medical visits into the billing codes hospitals need to get paid. Every chart has to be coded before a claim goes out, and doing it by hand is slow and error-prone. Arintra codes charts autonomously across inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, and emergency care. They work with large health systems representing more than $50 billion in combined patient revenue and process over $5 billion in claims a year. Today, we’re introducing Flows by Allia; a new way for mental health practices to automate repetitive work, directly inside the EHR. Most practice software is designed to record what happened. We want it to help determine what happens next. Running a mental health practice involves hundreds of small operational decisions: what needs to happen, when it should happen, and what to do when it doesn’t. Each decision is simple. Managing all of them, across every patient, is not. That’s why we built Flows. Flows lets a practice turn its own operating logic inside the EHR; defining the triggers, conditions, actions, and timing once, then allowing Allia to carry that process forward. This is about more than automating a few administrative tasks. It’s a step toward an Allia that understands how each practice works and actively supports the operational layer behind care. Never have I been as frustrated about limited capital as this YC batch. So many amazing founders and companies. 12/12 investments made. I think I'd be happy to have invested in *at least* 8 more favourites. You 8 know who you are. "I'm sorry" seems unnecessary though as it will almost certainly be me who will feel the most sorry when you all smash it. Amazing founders. I just wish I could invest more, in more. Maybe next batch ;)

fundraising before @ycombinator is very different from fundraising after. i thought fundraising meant weeks of meetings and follow-ups. we haven’t even properly started raising yet, and we’ve already seen investors commit hundreds of thousands within a single 30-minute call. The yc ecosystem is unreal. there’s no better place to build a startup imo.
