Turner’s .677 OPS ranks 122nd out of 137 qualifying hitters. In his first 4 seasons with the Phillies, Turner (entering today) has a .771 OPS. For comparing, Brandon Marsh has a .778 OPS in five seasons with Phillies. Turner arrived in Philly in 2023 with a career .842 OPS.

Pretti's death was tragic and maybe avoidable. But 11 days before he was shot, he yelled "Assault me MFer" at federal agents, and kicked out the taillight of their SUV and got tackled by them. He armed himself and repeatedly went out seeking confrontations with law enforcement. That this ended badly was in no small part his own fault.
