In 2017, @AmericanAir predicted that IFE screens would be "obsolete within a few years." Now, they're bringing them back to the airline's narrowbody fleet starting in 2028.
Delta isn’t calling Austin a hub — yet. But 70+ peak-day departures, 15 gates and Paris point to what’s next. I spoke with Delta’s managing director of international network planning about the strategy, PDEW math, and why Seoul must wait for now. Fun tidbit: CDG-AUS is DL99, a nod to @AustinAirport's 1999 opening for commercial service. https://airlinegeeks.com/2026/08/14/delta-isnt-calling-austin-a-hub-yet/
It's official: @Delta will launch new service between @AustinAirport and Paris next year, the carrier's first long-haul market from the Texas capital. https://airlinegeeks.com/2026/08/13/deltas-austin-build-up-goes-long-haul/
.@FedEx just unveiled a retro livery honoring its late founder Fred Smith. The 777 carries FedEx's original paint scheme and is named after Smith’s granddaughter, Rosie.
DoT's Sean Duffy confirms the Dulles people movers will be gone. They look "like it's from Star Wars, if you will, and they're slow and people are angry about them." Duffy says Dulles "is dark, it is dated, a little dank maybe." Trump says they're building a "massive nine-story, eight-story, 10-story" parking garage with 32,000 parking spaces right next to the terminal with a glass bridge so travelers don't have to "walk blocks and blocks." It'll be above ground. "People don't like going down underneath." The plan also includes modern check-in areas, more efficient security screenings, hotels, new restaurants and shops, including "one of the largest United Polaris lounges anywhere in the world."
.@Allegiant is adding a new premium product starting next year: Allegiant First. Select aircraft will feature eight Allegiant First seats, which will be open for booking in mid-August and will initially be available on select routes to/from Ft. Myers/Punta Gorda.
All @AmericanAir mainline and regional flights are under a ground stop at the moment due to an IT issue. (h/t @xJonNYC)

The new airport code for West Palm Beach, DJT, is starting to appear in airline systems.
📣EFFECTIVE TODAY: Palm Beach International Airport's three-letter location identifier has changed from PBI to DJT following the airport's official renaming to Donald J. Trump International Airport. FAA systems and publications reflect the new identifier. Pilots, air traffic controllers, and aviation stakeholders should use DJT for flight planning and operations.
.@AmericanAir will resume service between Chicago and Tokyo Narita, which was last served in 2020. Also will resume Charlottesville, Virgina, and Ontario, California.
