プライバシーポリシー

This Privacy Policy explains what information Tweet Viewer collects when you use our free X (Twitter) viewer and downloader, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. The short version: everything you look up is handled in your own browser, our server never sees it, and we run no analytics. Tweet Viewer is an independent project and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by X Corp. By using the site you agree to the practices described here. Last updated: September 21, 2026.

1. Who we are and what this policy covers

Tweet Viewer (“Tweet Viewer”, “we”, “us” or “our”) operates the website at tweetviewer.com (the “Site”), where anyone can view public X (Twitter) profiles, posts, media and replies without an account, and download publicly posted videos, GIFs, audio and screenshots for personal use.

This policy covers the Site itself. It does not cover X Corp., whose platform hosts the content you look up, the FxTwitter API that your browser queries for post and profile data, or any other third-party website you reach from here. Those services have their own privacy policies, and we have no control over them.

The Site is operated from the United States, and information collected through it is processed there. If you access the Site from another country, you are transferring information to the United States.

2. Information we collect

We collect as little as we can get away with. There are two categories:

  • Information you actively give us. You do not need an account to use any of the tools — there are no accounts at all. We only receive personal information when you choose to send it — for example, when you email us a support question, a copyright notice, or feedback. That message includes whatever you put in it, typically your email address and your name.
  • Standard request data. When your browser loads one of our pages, scripts or stylesheets, our hosting server receives the standard technical details of that request: IP address, browser type and language (User-Agent), the page path requested, the referring page, and the date and time. These may be recorded in short-lived server logs used for security and troubleshooting.

What we never receive. The handles, post links, post text, images, videos and audio you view, convert or download never reach our server. Your browser fetches them directly from the services named in section 7, and when a page link carries what you entered, it sits after the # in the URL — the part browsers never send to any server.

We do not ask for, and do not want, government identifiers, payment card numbers, precise GPS location, or other sensitive personal information.

3. No accounts, and nothing saved about your lookups

The Site has no sign-in and no user accounts. There is no search history, no “Recent” list, and no favourites, alerts or bookmarks — nothing about what you look up is saved, either on our server or in your browser.

The only things the Site keeps in your browser's local storage are your light/dark theme choice and, if you installed or dismissed the home-screen app card, a flag recording that. Neither contains anything you looked up, and neither is ever sent to us. You can clear both at any time through your browser's site-data settings.

4. Cookies, local storage and similar technologies

Tweet Viewer sets no cookies of its own. In short:

  • Preferences — your light/dark theme choice and the home-screen app card flag described in section 3, stored in your own browser's local storage, not in a cookie.
  • Advertising — where advertising is enabled, Google and other third-party advertising partners may set their own cookies, described in section 5.

There are no analytics or tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; doing so will not stop you viewing or downloading. Our full Cookie Policy lists the individual cookies, who sets them and how long they last.

5. Advertising and Google AdSense

Where advertising is enabled, the Site is supported by ads served through Google AdSense and may include other advertising partners. This is what keeps the tools free to use. These ad networks are independent third parties: your browser contacts them directly when it loads an ad, and we never pass them the handles, links or posts you look up.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Third-party vendors and ad networks may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons or your IP address, to collect information as a result of ad serving on the Site.

Some ads may be personalised to your interests; others are contextual, based only on the page you are reading. Your choices:

We do not control which specific ads appear and are not responsible for the products or services advertised.

6. No analytics or tracking

The Site runs no analytics or tracking of its own. There is no Google Analytics, no Microsoft Clarity, no session recording or heatmaps, no device identifiers, and no counting of app installs or opens. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not know which profiles or posts you view.

7. How lookups and downloads are handled

This is the part most people actually want to know, so it is worth being precise.

Everything happens in your browser. When you paste an X (Twitter) link or a handle, your browser requests the public post or profile data directly from the FxTwitter API (api.fxtwitter.com), an independent third-party service, and fetches images and videos directly from X's content servers (pbs.twimg.com and video.twimg.com). Converting to MP3 or GIF (with ffmpeg.wasm), building a .zip and rendering a screenshot all happen on your device.

Our server only delivers the Site's pages, scripts and styles. It never receives, fetches, proxies, logs, caches or stores any handle, post link, post text or media. When a page link carries what you entered, it sits after the # in the URL, and browsers never send that part to any server.

Nothing about your lookups is kept on your device either: there is no search history, no “Recent” list and no saved profiles or posts.

Only public content can be retrieved. We cannot and do not access private, protected, deleted or follower-only posts, direct messages, or anything that requires being logged in to X.

8. How we use information

We use the limited information described above to deliver, maintain and secure the Site; to respond to your questions and copyright notices; to detect and prevent abuse and technical problems; to display advertising where it is enabled; and to comply with our legal obligations. We do not use it to profile you.

9. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. The only service provider that handles information on our behalf is our hosting and content-delivery provider, which serves the Site's pages. Where advertising is enabled, the third-party ad network receives standard request data directly from your browser when it loads an ad, under its own privacy policy. We never pass the ad network, or anyone else, the handles, links or posts you look up — we never have them.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety and security of Tweet Viewer, our users or the public — and in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, with notice where required.

Please note that advertising cookies set by our ad partners may count as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising under some US state privacy laws. See section 12 for how to opt out.

10. Third-party services: FxTwitter and X (Twitter)

The Site links to X (Twitter) and may link to other third-party sites. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

Looking up a post or profile means your browser contacts the FxTwitter API (api.fxtwitter.com) directly, and loading media means it contacts X's content servers (pbs.twimg.com, video.twimg.com) directly. Those services receive your IP address, browser User-Agent and the handle or post requested, as with any request your browser makes. We do not control what they log; their handling of your data is governed by their own policies, not ours.

11. Children's privacy

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email contact@tweetviewer.com and we will delete it. If you are under 13, please do not use the Site or send us any personal information.

12. Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA gives you the right to:

  • Know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, where it came from, why we collect it, and who we share it with;
  • Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions;
  • Correct inaccurate personal information;
  • Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information. We do not sell personal information for money, but advertising cookies set by our ad partners, where ads are enabled, may qualify as “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising;
  • Limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information — noting that we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information in ways that trigger this right; and
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

To opt out of sharing for targeted advertising, decline non-essential cookies and use the advertising opt-outs in section 5. We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals: when we detect GPC from your browser we treat it as an opt-out request for that browser. For any other request, email contact@tweetviewer.com. We may need to verify your identity first, and you may use an authorised agent where the law permits.

13. Rights in the EEA, the UK and elsewhere (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another region with comparable law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port or restrict processing of your personal information, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent — for example for non-essential advertising cookies — you may withdraw it at any time.

Our legal bases are: legitimate interests for operating and securing the Site; consent for non-essential advertising cookies where consent is required; and legal obligation where a law requires us to act. To exercise any right, email contact@tweetviewer.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

14. Data security

Because we never receive what you look up, there is very little for us to protect. We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards, including HTTPS encryption for all traffic and access controls on the little data we do hold — short-lived server logs and the emails you send us. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

15. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as it is needed for the purposes in this policy, or as long as the law requires. In practice: server request logs, which never contain the handles or posts you looked up, are kept for a limited period (typically 30–90 days) and then deleted; and correspondence is kept as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. There is no account data or lookup history to retain.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will post the updated policy on this page and revise the “Last updated” date at the top. Continuing to use the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.

17. Contact us

Questions about this policy, or want to exercise your rights? Email contact@tweetviewer.com and a real person will read it. We aim to reply within 1–3 business days and, for formal privacy requests, within 30 days.
